Green Pea Guacamole (No Avocados)

Craving guacamole, but no avocados? No problem! Whip up a batch of green pea guacamole in minutes with little more than a bag of frozen peas and essential seasonings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups frozen green peas, thawed (1 12-ounce bag)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons finely grated lime zest
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce (more or less to taste)
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  • Place the thawed green peas, cilantro, lime juice, garlic powder, lime zest, lime juice, and cumin in a food processor, Pulse, using on/off pulses, until blended but not entirely smooth.
  • Scrape the guacamole into a small serving bowl and stir in the hot sauce and salt to taste.
  • Cover the guacamole and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes for the flavors to blend.
  • Serve with tortillas chips or serve as an accompaniment to Mexican or Tex-Mex dishes.

Notes

Storage: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or the freezer for up to 3 months.
