Craving guacamole, but no avocados? No problem! Whip up a batch of green pea guacamole in minutes with little more than a bag of frozen peas and essential seasonings.

Creamy green peas, a subtle hit of heat, and a heaping handful of fresh cilantro make this vibrant spreads one of my favorite snacks when I’m hungry as heck, and long for the fresh flavors of home (California).
Better still: it is ready to eat in a matter of minutes.
Hearty, healthy, vegetable-packed spreads are brilliant. I can make a batch with little fuss, and then keep eating it throughout the week. As a bonus, many such spreads taste even better on day two, as if the ingredients are becoming fully acquainted as they mellow out in the refrigerator.
This green pea guacamole is a perfect example of such a spread. No need to wait for avocados to turn perfectly ripe. Instead, open the freezer and reach for a bag of frozen green peas for a fresh new take on guacamole.

Texture Tip
A wee note regarding texture for the green pea guacamole. I prefer to process the frozen peas most of the way, but not all the way to completely smooth.
You can follow my lead, or process less or more (e.g., until completely smooth). You will love this jolly green dip/spread whichever way!

I was skeptical that this would taste too sweet, but that’s not the case at all. I am in love with it!!!
I am so glad that you like it, Renata!
Super easy and delicious! I’m not a big fan of Green peas on their own but blending them in spreads changes their texture in a very good way. Thanks for the recipe, we ate it with Pita chips and loved it. Today for lunch i’m going to throw some in with either Noodles or Zoodles and add some grated cheese.I Love Powerhungry! Thanks for your easy to follow recipes😋
