Energy Renewal Green Smoothie {vegan, GF}

Ready for a reboot? Then blend up my energy renewal green smoothie for a delicious & satisfying power boost. Made with tropical fruit, spinach and avocado, it is a green smoothie to love.

I know I am not alone when I say that I have low-energy days, pooped out afternoons, and slow-moving mornings. It happens, even when I have been eating well and getting plenty of sleep.

When it happens, my tried and true solution is to pull out the blender and whirl u a batch of instant energy n the form of a bright green smoothie.

Today was such a day, so I crafted a verdant blend that is soooo worth sharing with all of you!

Healthy Highlights of this Green Smoothie

This energy-renewing smoothie has banana, pineapple (or mango), spinach, avocado, and fresh lemon (or lime) juice. It is is loaded with nutrients, and to name a few it has

Vitamin B2 – Important for energy production and utilization of protein, carbs and fat for energy.

Vitamin B6 – Needed for the synthesis of neurotransmitters e.g. serotonin.

Folate – A key player in the formation of red bloods cells, which carry oxygen in the body and give all cells the oxygen they need.

Vitamin A –  Important for eye health and immune system.

Vitamin C – Improves iron uptake from non-heme sources (great as this has spinach- a non heme source of iron!). Good for collagen production.

Magnesium – Needed for over 300 cellular functions in the body! Important for muscle function and to prevent tiredness and fatigue.

IronVital for oxygen transportation in the body and for energy production.

All of these nutrients are key for keeping energy levels up throughout the day!

This smoothie is packed with fiber, too (almost 10 g fiber for the entire smoothie). Not only does fiber help you feel satisfied and full, it helps to regulate your blood sugar levels and promote healthy gut flora.

How Does the Smoothie Taste?

This smoothie is a sip-able tropical vacation, bright with the favors of banana and pineapple (or sub in mango), creamy avocado, and citrus. Adding lemon juice (or lime juice) is my tried and true trick for making green smoothies refreshing–it enhances the fruit flavors and brightens the greens in the mix.

This is one power-packed glassful, friends. After blending one up and downing mine this morning, I didn’t leap any tall buildings in a single bound, but my spin class and run felt pretty spectacular.

Now get to blending and sipping! You’ll have plenty of energy to thank me later.
